BBC Countryfile Live embodies all the very best bits of the television show – it’s a great day out for anyone who loves the countryside, and promises good outdoor fun, great food and priceless family time. This year, for the very first time, Countryfile Live came to the North, to the beautiful rolling parkland of Castle Howard.
The Rural Business Group is proud to have worked on ‘The O2 Rural Business Theatre’ at Castle Howard. Alongside O2 and SME London, the team behind BBC Countryfile Live, we curated a dynamic and varied theatre programme.
As you know, we are incredibly passionate about promoting rural businesses, as well as raising awareness of the challenges we face. The O2 Rural Business Theatre was a wonderful platform to share the inspirational stories of rural business owners, to offer practical business advice, and to address important issues, from risk management to rural strategy.
Thanks to the support, time and effort of a range of our past finalists, partners and sponsors, as well as our compère Jules Hudson, we put on a wide range of informative and engaging sessions. From dog clipping and cocktail making, to rural artists and the stories of life on the farm of the Yorkshire Shepherdess, the sessions embodied the full extent of the rural sector.
Despite some less than ideal weather, the stage was a great success, with crowds of people dropping by to watch the sessions across the four days of the show.
